Position Title: Coach
Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of the specific sport.
Reports To: Athletic Director
Job Summary:
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem
Performance Responsibilities:
Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
Works closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling contests.
Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork.
Oversees the safety condition of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Players must be supervised at all times when under the coaches jurisdiction. This includes in the locker room and on the bus as well as on the field of play.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year is to be established by Trinidad School District #1 Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Trinidad School District #1 Board of Education regarding Evaluation of Personnel.
